How Do I Participate?

Employers must complete the following requirements to participate:

  • Register on HFOJobs.
  • Create a profile (which will include information on the facility and community) and specify the number of positions that will be created.
  • Accept applications from new graduates.
  • Conduct interviews and select new graduates.
  • Submit your letter of offer through HFOJobs.
  • Receive the match confirmation letter, obtain appropriate signatures and send request to the Ministry for funding.
  • Employ new graduates for the length of time specified in the funding letter that they receive.
  • Notify the Ministry if the position is terminated prior to the end of the contract.
  • Provide a comprehensive orientation for the new graduate (minimum orientation requirements will be outlined in the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Guidelines).

Offers of Employment
When you receive a resumé from an applicant you are interested in hiring, you can proceed with a regular interview process.

Your letter of offer for employment must be submitted through HFOJobs.

Once a confirmation of acceptance has been received from the new graduate, you must complete and submit a budget request online to receive funding from the Nursing Graduate Guarantee program.

Temporary Registration for New Graduates
Remember that once an offer of employment has been accepted, new nursing graduates must obtain Temporary Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario before they can start working.

Please refer to the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Guidelines for more information.
