Information sessions bring together groups of internationally educated health professions with a common goal. These sessions focus on various aspects of the registration process.

Upcoming Sessions


Orientation to Canadian Health Care Systems, Culture and Context

Orientation to Canadian Health Care Systems, Culture and Context is a course for internationally educated health professionals. Sponsored by the University of Toronto, in co-operation with the Access Centre, this five-week course will provide learners with a better understanding of how the Canadian health care system is organized, what Canadian patients expect from their health care providers and how to communicate with patients and caregivers.

Orientation Session for International Medical Graduates (IMGs)

This session is open to all IMGs who are registered clients of the Access Centre. This session will include information regarding:

  • The CaRMS application process
  • The CEHPEA assessment process
  • The Medical Council of Canada examinations
  • Services available at the Access Centre

Attend this information session to find out about the steps required to become a registered Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician in Ontario.

Information Session on Registration Requirements in Ontario for Internationally Educated Health Professionals

HealthForceOntario’s Access Centre Advisor will discuss the steps required to become a registered Nurse, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist and Medical Laboratory Technologist in Ontario. These sessions will focus on the registration requirements and the assessment process.

These sessions will be held at the Settlement and Integration Services Organization (SISO) in Hamilton, ON.

Session Date: Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

  • International Pharmacy Graduate Session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • International Nursing Graduate Session from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
  • International Medical Laboratory Graduate Session from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
  • International Physiotherapy Graduate Session from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
