Access Centre Services

The Access Centre provides information for people who intend to apply to a regulatory body to obtain licensure to work in their field. Knowledgeable staff can direct you toward the process for licensing and registration in Ontario. 

This list of services below is intended to provide an overview of services available at the Access Centre. Individual circumstances are unique and we encourage all internationally educated health professionals to contact us either by phone or in person so we can better assist you.

The Access Centre provides the following services:

  • Information about regulated health professions including:
    - Standards of professional qualifications
    - Licensing and registration processes
  • Ongoing counselling and support to assist clients in finding the most effective path to professional practice or career options that complement skills and experience.
  • Contact information and referrals to the regulatory body in the appropriate field of expertise.

  • Alternate career options that complement skills and experience.

  • On-site reference materials and resources, including an on-site library.

  • Referrals to relevant organzations and community resources where appropriate.

  • Links to education and assessment programs where applicable.

  • Self-assessment tools where applicable. 

  • Information and referrals for retraining and bridge-training programs where applicable.

  • Information sessions  that are focused on various aspects of the registration process.

Attention Clients who are applying to CaRMS (Canadian Resident Matching Service) for the 2010 match:

Access Centre Advisors will review clients’ CVs and Personal Letters for CaRMS applications.

Please note: the last day for CaRMS documents review is Friday, November 20th, 2009. Please do not request CaRMS documents review after this date.
