Stream II: Career Options-Employment and Coaching

Could my background lead to a successful career in another health field?

Yes. The employment and coaching stream will provide you with additional resources to enter a specific field of employment in a non-regulated health care field.

Online Registration

Are you an internationally educated health professional living in Ontario and seeking information about the regulatory process in a regulated health profession? If so, please click on the Register Online button below and follow the steps to become a registered client of the Access Centre.

Through one-to-one coaching and workshop preparation, you will acquire the tools and self-awareness to understand your skills better, promote yourself effectively, appreciate the labour market and reach your employment goals. As well, you will develop your own action plan, and learn how to research and target employers.

Ideally, you will develop the strategic thinking and planning skills necessary to achieve meaningful employment in health care outside of licensure. This stream may also enhance your portfolio when applying to a residency-training program.

How the Career Options - Employment and Coaching Stream will get you there?

The following group workshops and individual career coaching sessions will help you prepare for alternate health care employment.

Eligibility Requirements

Labour Market and Occupational Research
This skills inventory workshop will give you a better understanding of your skills and goals.

Networking and Job Search Strategies
This networking and research workshop will focus on job-search strategies and understanding today’s labour market.

Interview Preparation and Practice Interviews
This workshop will teach you how to prepare for a non-clinical interview through a series of face-to-face and telephone mock interviews.

Resumé Preparation
This workshop will show you how to market yourself, sell your skills, and develop and write an effective resumé.
