Recruitment and Relocation

Services for Physicians
Personal, one-to-one help is available for physicians and their families from outside Ontario who want to relocate here.

Here's how we can help you:

Licensing and Certification
To practise in Ontario you must meet certain requirements as determined by The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).

We will assess your medical training and practice experience, and help you to determine what steps and timelines will be necessary for you to obtain licensure in the province of Ontario.

When in doubt, we will contact representatives from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for clarification and advice, and keep you updated on the status of your applications.

Immigration and Work Permits
We will explain the process of applying for permanent residence or a work permit and connect you with expert advice.

Job Searching
We will work with you to find available job opportunities by:

  • Directing you to practice opportunities posted on HFOJobs
  • Connecting you with peers in your specialty working in Ontario
  • Referring you to community-based representatives in your communities of choice

Relocation Services
We will help you and your family move to Ontario through our Relocation Services offerings.

Referral
Not all health care professionals educated outside Canada will have or be able to obtain the requirements to practise in Ontario. If this is your situation, we will connect you with the HealthForceOntario Access Centre for Internationally Educated Health Professionals. Advisors will talk with you about assessing your credentials and any additional training you may need to practise in Ontario.
