Services for Communities

Physician Recruitment
Community recruiters, health care organizations and municipalities can receive recruitment assistance from the HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency.

Here’s how we can help you:

Promoting your community
HFOJobs is a free and easy-to-use job portal that enables you to post your physician, nurse and new nursing graduate job opportunities and promote your facility and community. It's a comprehensive health care job site with a wide reach to national and international job seekers."

Licensing and Certification
Communities often have questions about whether a candidate they are working to recruit will be eligible to work in Ontario in the near future. Our advisors are trained to review CVs and assess the options available for each physician based on their unique combination of training, specialty and practice experience.

Advisors can work with you or directly with your physician candidate to determine their requirements for licensing and certification. When in doubt, we will contact representatives from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) for clarification and advice.

Please note that we will keep your physician CVs confidential — your recruits are your recruits.

Immigration and Work Permits
Our advisors have immigration expertise and can assist you by explaining the process of applying for permanent residence or a work permit.

Community Partnership Program
The new Community Partnership Program will have a team of partnership coordinators situated within each of the Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) areas. These partnership coordinators will work with communities on physician recruitment and retention, health human resource planning and help coordinate recruitment across the province.
