Locum Credentialing Application Program for Physicians and Hospitals
** March 23, 2010 - Ontario Hospital Association
Transfer of the Locum Credentialing Application Program
to HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency **
The Locum Credentialing Application Program (LCAP) was designed to streamline the administrative process and help physicians acquire an appointment and privileges as a locum tenens in multiple public hospitals in Ontario. The program was developed by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and the Professional Association of Internes and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO), in consultation with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), and the Ontario Region of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC).
The LCAP is administered by HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency (HFO MRA) for participating hospitals and physicians in the Emergency Department Coverage Demonstration Project (EDCDP). Physicians are required to complete one LCAP form annually, including accompanying documentation. At the request of a participating hospital who specifically identifies a physician, this completed LCAP application, will be sent to the hospital(s) by HFO MRA. Hospitals process these applications in accordance with the provisions of the Public Hospitals Act, the Regulations thereunder, and the by-laws of the hospital.
