If you’re a practising registered nurse, you might want to consider additional education to become a nurse practitioner (NP), who has a greater level of responsibility and scope of practice.
Becoming a Nurse Practitioner
If you’ve completed your bachelor’s degree in nursing and have at least 2 years of clinical nursing experience, you might consider continuing your education and becoming a nurse practitioner (NP). With advanced education, nurse practitioners can take on additional responsibilities, including diagnosing common diseases, ordering basic diagnostic tests and prescribing and administering certain treatments.
