Health Profession Roles in Ontario

As part of the HealthForceOntario strategy, Ontario is introducing new and expanded health care provider roles to meet human resource needs in Ontario’s health care system.

The education programs relating to these new roles will expand career options for health professionals and help Ontario meet growing and changing population health needs.

Changes to Regulation of Health Care Providers
The Minister of Health and Long-Term Care is seeking input from health care providers and stakeholders on reports received from the Health Professions Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC).

The reports include changes to the regulation of health professionals that protect Ontarians and improve access to care in the province.

The Minister is also looking for input on who may use the title "Doctor" when delivering health care to Ontarians. For more information on this issue, see HPRAC’s April 2006 report Regulation of Health Professions in Ontario: New Directions.

Deadline for submissions is January 31, 2009.

Read the reports and provide feedback
