Nursing Graduate Guarantee Overview Video

Changes to the 2008 program include:

  • If the new graduate does not successfully pass the applicable Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CNRE) or Canadian Registered Practical Nurse Examination (CRPNE) on their first attempt, the Ministry will suspend the new graduate's funding under the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Program. The Ministry may continue funding the new graduate's participation under the Program if the new graduate subsequently passes the second or third attempt at the Examination, subject to any applicable collective agreement requirements and if the Employer has an available Supernumerary Position;
  • New graduates now have up to 72 hours (3 days) upon accepting an employment offer on the HFOJobs Portal to cancel the offer of acceptance.

Please refer to the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Guidelines for more information.
