Looking for more information about the colleges, associations and services that assist physicians in Ontario? Below is a list of organizations, along with brief explanations about each and links to their sites.

Ontario

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) Issues certificates of registration for all physicians in Ontario and provides peer assessment.
Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) Promotes the quality of family medicine in Ontario through leadership, research, education and advocacy.
Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) Download and complete forms to apply for an OHIP billing number.
Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) Dedicated to improving the delivery of hospital health care.
Ontario Medical Association (OMA) Represents the political, clinical and economic interests of Ontario's medical profession.
Professional Association of Internes and Residents of Ontario (PAIRO) Ensures its members have optimal training and working conditions.

National

Canadian Association of Internes and Residents (CAIR) Facilitates discussions among provincial organizations, achieving consensus on policy and advocacy issues. 
Canadian Medical Association (CMA)  Advocates on behalf of physicians and provides leadership for coordinated national policies.
The Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) Provides members with medico-legal advice, risk management education and legal assistance related to their clinical practice.

The College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Provides quality patient care through education, research and promotion of best practices.
The Guidelines Advisory Committee Encourages physicians to use the best available clinical practice guidelines.
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Sets the standards for postgraduate medical education and for certifying specialist physicians.
Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) Supports rural physicians; delivers continuing rural medical education; facilitates research into rural health issues and more.
