Dietitians

The College of Dietitians of Ontario regulates the profession of dietetics in Ontario in the interest of the public and public protection.
Registration Requirements
Only individuals who hold a Certificate of Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO) can practise as a Dietitian in Ontario. To become registered, all applicants must meet the following registration requirements:
- Complete CDO application form and fee
- Original or notarized copy of university undergraduate and/or graduate degrees, diplomas or/and certificates, official transcripts and course description
- An academic assessment report from a credential agency approved by the College
- Proof of practical training in an accredited practical program in Canada or equivalent
- Proof of language proficiency in English or French
- Record of ethical and competent practice
- Record of good character and good conduct
- Proof of current dietetic knowledge and competence
- Proof of permanent residency, Canadian citizenship or valid employment authorization under the Immigration Act (Canada)
- Completion of Ryerson Universities Internationally Educated Dieticians Pre-Registration Program or advance clinical nutrition course and Canadian Practical Training Program (CAPT)
- Pass the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination (Registration Exam)
