Entry to Practice Requirements

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO), the governing body for medical doctors in Ontario, has introduced
4 new pathways to reduce barriers for qualified physicians to obtain registration to practise medicine in the province.

The new pathways will be applicable to the following groups of physicians:

Pathway 1

Pathway 2

Pathway 3

  • Physicians with a Canadian or U.S. medical degree WITH U.S. postgraduate training and certification

Pathway 4

  • International medical graduates (IMGs) WITH U.S. postgraduate training and certification


Registration and Relocation Advice

The Recruitment and Relocation Department of the HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency provides advice and information to the following groups of physicians who want to relocate and practise in Ontario.
