Am I CPSO license eligible?

To practise medicine in Ontario you will need a licence from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). As a general rule, you may be CPSO license-eligible if you are one of the following:

  • Family physicians: have completed an accredited residency program in a jurisdiction recognized by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC, see below); or
  • Specialists: have completed an accredited residency program in a jurisdiction recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC, see below; or
  • You are currently practising in another Canadian province.
