Ontario

Ontario Medical Association (OMA) represents the political, clinical and economic interests of the province's medical profession. Practising physicians, residents, and students enrolled in any of the Ontario faculties of medicine are eligible for membership in the OMA.

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is the website for the self-regulating body for the province's medical profession with information regarding registration and includes 'Doctor Search' capabilities with information that is publicly available about all doctors licensed to practice in Ontario.

Ontario College of Family Physicians (OCFP) is a provincial Chapter of the National Organization and is a voluntary, not-for-profit association. It promotes leadership, education and advocacy in family medicine and represents more than 5,800 family physicians.

Access Centre for Internationally Educated Health Professionals is a place where internationally trained and educated health professionals can learn how to qualify for professional practice in Ontario's regulated health professions.

The Professional Association of Internes and Residents of Ontario is the official representative voice for all medical doctors training in the province.

The Ontario Medical School Application Service is a non-profit centralized application service for applicants to the six Ontario medical schools: Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine (McMaster University), Northern Ontario School of Medicine, University of Ottawa, Queen's University, University of Toronto, and Schulich School of Medicine (The University of Western Ontario).

Canadian Medical Association (CMA) is a voluntary professional organization representing, 44,000 physicians across Canada. Material on the website serves to provide leadership for coordinated national policies and to advocate for the profession.

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is responsible for setting and maintaining the standards for postgraduate medical education, for the certification of specialist physicians and surgeons in Canada, and for promoting their continued education.

College of Family Physicians of Canada is the national medical association which supports family physicians in providing high quality health care to their patients.

Medical Council of Canada is the body that evaluates physicians' competence and maintains a national registry of physicians and their qualifications.

Canadian Resident Matching Service

The Society of Rural Physicians of Canada is the national voice of Canadian rural physicians. Its mission is to provide leadership for rural physicians and to promote sustainable conditions and equitable health care for rural communities.

The Canadian Association of Interns and Residents is the national body of provincial housestaff organizations which advocates the collective interests of residents in Canada in educational, professional and well being issues.

The Canadian Medical Protective Association is a medical mutual defence organization that provides services such as legal defence, indemnification, risk management, educational programs, and general advice.

The Guidelines Advisory Committee promotes evidence-based health care in Ontario by encouraging physicians to use the best available clinical practice guidelines. The committee endorses each recommended guideline following an in-depth review and provides a link to all available guidelines.

The Canadian Post-M.D. Education Registry keeps files containing socio-demographic information and details of the current and past training programs of each resident or fellow under the supervision of the Canadian faculties of medicine for medical manpower planning on a national basis.

The Canadian Federation of Medical Students is a national organization that comprises medical societies representing over 6,000 medical students pursuing their medical careers in 13 Canadian medical schools from coast to coast.
