Clerkship Travel Program

Attention residents in PGY1 and PGY2 who completed an MD program in Ontario: You may be eligible for reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses incurred during a clinical rotation in the final two years of your MD program. If you completed a clinical rotation after April 1, 2011, at an Ontario Academic Health Science Centre Hospital that was 100 kilometres or more from your home school, you may be eligible for funding.

Eligibility and details

“Residents in Ontario are fortunate to have the opportunity to explore regions across Ontario during their residency, and participate in rural as well as urban rotations. The development of teaching skills is important in residency wherever you plan to practise. Medical education is integrated throughout the province, and having physician supervisors with strong teaching ability will benefit learners and patients alike.”

Dr. Peter Wells, MD, CCFP, FCFP, FRRMS
Chair, HFO MRA Board of Directors
Executive Director, Rural Ontario Medical Program
