- Congratulations to Windsor Regional Hospital on receiving the Leading Practice Award in the ‘Access to Care’ category at the 2011 Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) International HealthAchieve Conference & Exhibition.
- Forty-five UWO family medicine residents attended the annual FMRW Fall Forum Resident Retreat in Grand Bend, Nov. 25-27. The weekend included a career fair expo and lecture series, as well as social and networking activities. The event was presented through the new partnership of UWO’s Department of Family Medicine, SWOMEN and HFO MRA.
- Bluewater Health has earned a 2011 quality Healthcare Workplace Award from HealthForceOntario and the OHA.
- The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and the Chatham-Kent Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee have had a very successful recruiting year!

- Toldo Mental Health Hospital is now open and accepting patients. The 65-bed facility is part of Windsor Regional Hospital’s renovation and will provide patient care to the Windsor community and Erie St. Clair region.
- The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recently announced funding to support the provincial Primary Care Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Lead Pilot Program. The creation of the Primary Care LHIN Lead role is intended to strengthen and focus the efforts that local primary care providers and LHINs have made to date to address local challenges. The new Primary Care LHIN lead for Erie St Clair LHIN will be announced soon.
