- PracticeOntario@Western is growing with 57 first-year family medicine residents already registered and eager to find a practice opportunity in Ontario. This is an increase of 22 from last year.
- Listowel and North Perth have been approved to hire a health-care recruiter for their area.
- Welcomes:
- Recruiter Peggy Zeppieri confirms that new ER doctor Steve MacKinnon will join the Southampton Emergency Department next summer. He is from the University of Toronto.
- Family doctor Yvonne MacDonald has started at the West Elgin Community Health Centre.
- Dr Jennifer Jeffries has joined the Dr Russell Hall Family Health Centre in Norwich.
- Dr Jay Bajanerjee, anesthesiologist, has started at The Hanover and District Hospital.
- Dr Fahamia Koudra, family physician, joined the Goderich Family Health Team in August and is a great help in the obstetrical department.
- Family physicians Dr Anje Kluz and Dr Agnes Kluz joined Seaforth’s medical staff in October bringing the number of family physicians to eight. They are from Regina, Saskatchewan.
- Dr Loretta Seevaratnam, family physician, is a welcome addition to the Clinton medical team. She started Dec. 1, 2011.
- The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care recently announced funding to support the provincial Primary Care Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Lead Pilot Program. The creation of the Primary Care LHIN Lead role is intended to strengthen and focus the efforts that local primary care providers and LHINs have made to date to address local challenges. The new Primary Care LHIN lead for South West LHIN will be announced soon.
