Hospital Eligibility

Hospital eligibility is assessed on a case-by-case basis based on relative highest need. Considerations in assessing the risk of ED closure due to lack of physician coverage include:

• the percentage of the ED physician complement being actively recruited for
• availability and use of staffing alternatives
• hospital size/ED volumes
• degree of isolation
• other factors
