Registration Requirements for Internationally Educated Denturists
To practise as a regulated health professional in Ontario, you must be a member of your profession’s regulatory college and hold a certificate of registration. Regulated health professionals are required by law to deliver competent, ethical and professional services, and are accountable to the public through their respective colleges.
The College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO) regulates, governs and develops the profession of denturism while serving the public interest.
Ontario Registration Requirements
To practise as a denturist in Ontario, internationally educated denturists must hold a Certificate of Registration and meet the requirements set out by the College of Denturists of Ontario (CDO). To become eligible for the Certificate of Registration, internationally educated denturists must meet the following registration requirements:

Complete Application for Certificate of Registration and submit fees.

Submit Diploma in Denture Therapy or in Denturism and official transcripts.

Submit a Comprehensive Credential Report from a CDO approved credentialing agency allowing the CDO to assess equivalency with the George Brown College Denturism Program.

Provide proof of English or French language proficiency if applicant’s Denturism program was not taught in either language. Proof of language proficiency must be submitted from a CDO approved testing agency.

Provide a Letter of Standing from each jurisdiction applicant has been registered/licensed to practice.

Provide a criminal clearance letter issued by local police service.

Show that the applicant is mentally competent to practise the profession and will practise the profession with decency, integrity, and honesty, in accordance with the law.

Show the applicant can communicate effectively with and will display an appropriate attitude towards patients and colleagues.

Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada or have authorization under the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Have successfully completed both written and practical qualifying exams set by the CDO.
