IEHP Career Journeys

Series of videos featuring the career journeys of five different Internationally Educated Health Professionals.

Clinical Research features the career journey of an International Medical Graduate (IMG) becoming a clinical researcher. It includes practical strategies of transitioning into this field, among them upgrading knowledge, experience, and skills to achieve career goals.

Nursing features the career journey of Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) becoming a registered nurse in Ontario. It includes practical strategies, among them upgrading knowledge, experience, and communication skills despite being deemed eligible to take the licensing examination.

Cytotechnology features the career journey of an International Medical Graduate (IMG) becoming a cytotechnologist. It includes practical strategies of transitioning into this field, among them upgrading knowledge, experience, and skills to achieve career goals. (Special emphasis placed on upgrading communication skills.)

Orientation to the Canadian Health Care System

Orientation to the Canadian Health Care System Part I focuses on the role of the federal and provincial/territorial governments in the Canadian Health Care System and the five principles that our health care system is built upon.

Orientation to the Canadian Health Care System Part II focuses on the provincial delivery of health care including the importance of patient-centered care, safe, competent and ethical practice, inter-professional collaboration, information on levels of care and regulated health professions.
