Physician Eligibility
Physician eligibility for both Urgent and Respite Locum Tenens Programs is the same. Eligibility includes:
Geographic Location:
- Base practice must be at least 40 kilometres away from the locum site; and
- Permanent residence must be at least 40 kilometres away from the locum site.
Licensing Requirements:
- A valid Certificate of Registration from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- A current Certificate of Professional Conduct from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
- A valid certificate from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
- Evidence of medical practice protection coverage (CMPA Membership Update) or equivalent.
- An active Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) billing number and billing privileges. For more information about registering for a billing number, visit OHIP.
